Mark L. Ayer, DVM
Dr. Mark L. Ayer has lived many places in the U.S. and abroad as his father was in the Army. Dr. Ayer has a double degree in Zoology and Chemistry from the University of North Carolina, a Masters Degree in Zoology from NC State University and a DVM from Iowa State University. After spending a year practicing in Charlotte, NC, he spent the next 8 years in High Point before buying Archdale Animal Clinic in 1992. He is a member of Furnitureland Rotary, an active Boy Scout leader (who is an Eagle Scout himself), and a member of Crimestoppers of Archdale.
Catherine Buttke, DVM
A native of Kentucky, Dr. Catherine G. Buttke did her pre-veterinary work at Western Kentucky University. After receiving her DVM degree from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1981, she moved to North Carolina to join a mixed animal practice which, at that time, served the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. She was the first female Veterinarian to practice in Randolph County. After 2 years of working full-time, she began working part-time for various small animal practices in Randolph, Davidson, and Guilford Counties. She joined the staff of Archdale Animal Clinic, full-time in 2006.
Dr. Buttke is married to a dairy farmer. She has two adult children and a new grandson, all of whom reside in the area. She shares her home with two cats - Seal & Tabby. Her leisure activities include gardening, needlework, and hiking in the mountains.
Kelsey LaVigne, DVM
Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Kelsey LaVigne attended Virginia Tech for her undergraduate degree in Animal Science (Go Hokies!) before moving to North Carolina to obtain her veterinary degree from NC State. Upon graduating, she spent 2 years practicing at a rural, mixed animal practice in Thomson, Georgia. She joins Archdale Animal Clinic with special interests in preventative medicine, low stress handling, and client communication.
Dr. LaVigne and her husband have a young daughter, a mixed breed dog (Lucy), and several freshwater fish (although named, too many to mention). She loves reading, hiking, volunteering, and traveling (especially to places she can snorkel!). She looks forward to serving you and your pets.
